Hanne Loosen designed "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe" for Rosebud Theatre in Alberta in 2022.
This Headdress for the White Stag character had branches for antlers, and various tags and leaves covering a hood shape.
Ensuring the "antlers" stayed upright was challenging! I used Ian Bennet's method of wiring a wide base inside the headdress.
The Snow Queen headdress was a built on a vintage rabbit fur headband. The upright icicle branches were held together invisibly with fishing line
Frosty and silvery leaves were stitched to the base, and an elastic and hair comb were used to keep the headdress in place on the actor's head.
This character was a Woodland Creature.
The headdress was built on a winter hat with branches stitched on in a controlled-random arrangement.
The idea was to have the branches resemble a bush!
Another Hanne Loosen design, this translucent Top Hat was made for the show "Wonderland". A wire frame was covered with black lace.
Inside the wire frame hat is another close-fitting hat that houses lights and a battery pack.
Made for Season 1 of the TV series Fargo, this was one of four waitress uniform caps.
This leather and brocade headdress was made in a workshop led by Rose Hudson. The shapes were made from Fosshape, and wired on their perimeters.
Some of the fosshape sections were covered with leather and the rest with gold and black brocade.
The sections were attached to a wire frame that had been covered with black tulle.
Eventually this headdress was used in Season 5 of the TV series Fargo, in a scene that takes place at Halloween.
This Turtle Hat was made for Season 1 of Fragile Rock; Back To The Rock.
It was meant to resemble a sea turtle, but function as a bucket hat!
The turtle's face and limbs were three-dimensional and stuffed with fiberfill before being stitched into the sections of the hat.
Here's the actress wearing the Turtle hat in a screen shot from the show.
